Last week the kids made mason jar aquariums! They gathered rocks to put at the bottom, little plants, and we also had little animals they could use to make their aquarium a little more realistic!
This Wednesday the kids got to pretend that they were rainforest ninjas. We tied up string around trees that acted as "lasers", and if the lasers were touched, the kids had to go back and try again. To add to the difficulty, it happened to be a cold and rainy day, which created a muddy mess. Such a blast!
Earlier this week the kiddos made robotic hands!!! They started off by tracing their hands on card stock and cutting them out. Next they cut straws into smaller pieces to act as the joints, and it made it so that the fingers were able to bend. Lastly, they had to thread yarn through the straws that when pulled, would pull the fingers down and create a natural looking hand movement. We have some very creative and talented kids here at Rocket Club!
