I hope that you are well!
This week we got a little crafty. Some of your students and I worked to create some unique and beautiful marbled terra cotta pots. This project was super simple; all you needed was a terra cotta pot, white paint, water, colored paint, a stick or skewer, and some sort of bin to hold the paint.
First, we poured the white paint into our disposable lasagna tins (perfect for this project!) and diluted it with some water. Once that was mixed to our desired consistency we added pops of color and swirled it around to get a marbled effect.
After school, Zhiyang and Cece joined us and they brought some "gifts". In their math class the students were split up into groups and had to create posters based on geometric equations and properties of triangles, and their teacher was kind enough to let them bring ALL of the posters to !MPACT, which they then proceeded to hang around the room. The posters have since been removed, but we were sure to capture some photos of them in case any of you wanted a quick geometry refresher ;)
Check back next week for some more entertainment!
Remember: There is no school or !MPACT this Friday 5/25 or Monday 5/28 for Memorial Day Weekend.
